We Didn't Just Season Bacon. We Elevated It.

Bacon Zest was born from a simple frustration — and a whole lot of hunger.

Our Origin Story

It started in 2019 in a high school classroom in Overland Park, Kansas. I was a student enrolled in the Blue Valley CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) food innovation program and was tired of the same bland eggs and bacon every single morning. So I did what any hungry, ambitious teenager would do: he tried to fix it.

The first idea? Better Bacon Bags — a concept for cooking pre-seasoned bacon right in the bag. It was bold, it was creative… and it failed. The tests rendered the bacon unsafe to eat. Back to the drawing board.

But that failure sparked something better. Instead of seasoning then cooking in the bag, why not just season the bacon itself? And not just for breakfast — bacon shows up on salads, burgers, sandwiches, and so much more. Why not improve bacon as a whole?

That question became Bacon Zest.
